How to Resize Hongmioo Ratchet Belts — Quick Step-by-Step

Hongmioo ratchet belts — also called automatic buckle belts or no-hole belts — ship as a one-size-fits-all length. The strap is intentionally longer so you can cut it to your exact waist size. Resizing takes about 5 minutes and requires only a measuring tape and sharp scissors or a utility knife.

Resizing Steps

1

Detach Strap from Buckle

Open the back clamp of the ratchet buckle. Slide the belt strap out completely. Set the buckle aside.

2

Calculate the Correct Length

Take your waist measurement and add 7 inches (18 cm). Example: 34" waist + 7" = 41" total strap length. Measure this length from the tip end (farthest from the buckle attachment) and mark the cutting point clearly.

3

Cut the Strap

Using sharp scissors or a utility knife, cut straight across at the marked point. Cut cleanly to avoid fraying. If the strap has stitching at the tip, cut just past the last stitch line.

4

Reattach the Buckle

Insert the freshly cut end into the buckle clamp. Ensure the strap sits evenly and reaches full depth. Close the clamp and press down firmly until it clicks or locks into place.

5

Test the Fit

Try on the belt. The ideal fit uses the centre ratchet tooth. If it is too tight or too loose, adjust the length by 0.5" and retry.

Only cut from the tip end — never cut the buckle end. The buckle end has a specific shape that fits into the clamp mechanism. Also, do not remove the small rubber or foam pad inside the buckle clamp; it helps grip the strap.
